Job Description	Applications on A4 size paper in the prescribed proforma given below are invited from the eligible Candidates for the post of Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) in the scale of pay of Rs. 7100-200-10100 plus and other usual allowances as applicable as per Rules. Vacancies / Reservation: Number of vacancies to be filled up in BSNL, Andaman & Nicobar Telecom Circle as follows: OC: 10 OBC: 04 SC: 0 ST: 02 PH: 0 Total: 16 Eligibility Criteria: Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years as on 30.09.2008 (Last date of receipt of application). The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. The age relaxation for BSNL employees is upto 40 years for OC & 45 years for SC/ST and upto 43 years for OBC candidates as per Rules. Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation in age limit as per Rules. SC / ST / OBC Candidates should produce the community certificate in the prescribed proforma for each category for availing age relaxation. Service Liability: Within the jurisdiction of CGM, A&N Telecom Circle and BSNL may transfer anywhere in India in case of exigency of service. Method of Recruitment: Through Competitive Examinations as per Departmental Rules. Only those candidates have secured minimum 50% marks in 3 years Engineering Diploma will be permitted to appear in the competitive examination. Examination Fee: Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of Accounts Officer (Cash), BSNL, A&N Telecom Circle, payable at Port Blair along with the application in a single draft. Fees once paid will not be returned under any circumstances. SC / ST Candidates are exempted from the examination fee provided they enclose necessary Community Certificate. Bond and Training: (i) All candidates provisionally recruited against the vacancies for direct recruitment shall execute a Bond in the format as specified by the Company to serve in BSNL for a period of Five (5) Years from the date of their appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) in the proforma as may be specified by Company. (ii) The BSNL selected candidates will have to successfully undergo a prescribed training as per the training plan laid down by BSNL before their appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA). (iii) During the period of training, the direct recruit Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) will be entitled to stipend (training allowance) as decided by BSNL from time to time. Disqualification: No person, (a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living OR’ (b) Who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person is eligible for the recruitment. Period of Probation: The candidates appointed shall remain on probation for a period of Two Years. Schedule of Examination: The examination consists of the three objective type papers as follows: Paper Subject Marks Time Allowed I General Ability Test 100 2 Hours II Basic Engineering 500 3 Hours III Specialization 500 3 Hours The advertisement along with syllabus is made available in the BSNL website www.andaman-nicobar.bsnl.co.in. The examination is likely to be held in the month of January, 2009. The exact date and venue of the examination will be intimated only to the eligible Candidates through Hall Permits issued by this Office. Syllabus: Paper-I: Comprehension and understanding of General English(simple exercises) Paper-II: Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Basic Electricity, Electronic Devices and Circuits & Digital Techniques. Paper-III: Any two from “a” to “g” (a)Electrical, (b) Communication,(c) Network, Filters and Transmission Lines, (d)Instruments and Measurements, (e)Control Systems, (f) Microprocessors and (g) Computers. Note: Detailed Syllabus will be issued along with the HALL PERMIT. Rejection: Application received without the required fee, without copies of certificates and incomplete application will be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this connection shall be entertained.
Education	A Candidate must possess three (3) years Engineering Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering / Electronics, Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Radio Engineering / Computer Engineering / Instrument Technology / M.Sc (Electronics) from a recognized Institution / University on the date of application.

Apply Details	Application in A 4 size (30cm X 20cm) completed in all respects in the prescribed proforma along with the attested copies of the certificates in respect of qualification, age and community etc. should reach the Assistant General Manager (Admn), O/o the Chief General Manager, A&N Telecom Circle, BSNL, Telephone Bhawan, Port Blair - 744 101 on or before 30.09.2008 Candidates working under Central / State Govt. / Public Sector undertakings should send their applications through the Head of their Office / Department and reach this office on or before the due date. Application received after the due date from such offices will be summarily rejected. Recent passport size photograph attested by a Gazetted Officer should be affixed in the space provided for in the application. The envelope containing the application must be duly super scribed with “Application for the Post of Telecom Technical Assistant” on top of the envelop Two self addressed stamped envelops of 27x12 cms and 2 passport size photos identical to the photo pasted in the application should be enclosed along with application. Application must be sent in the format as prescribed in the advertisement, otherwise it will be rejected. Application and requisite enclosures must be properly tagged / stitched by thread only. BSNL will not be responsible for loss of enclosures if sent loose. No overwriting in the application is allowed. Registration in employment Exchange is preferable but not mandatory.
