Job Description

Global Retail Catalog Systems Support (GRCSS) mission is to provide a single point of contact for item-related problems and issues related to all retail catalogs. This includes being responsible for meeting Catalog build SLAs, ticket SLAs and driving root cause resolution on tickets.This role undertakes a variety of tasks related to the building and ongoing management of the retail product catalogs. The role involves analyzing data, processing changes and deploying them. Tasks/Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this role include:- Provide engineering support of our incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting and debugging, with responsibilities covering multiple product lines in all Amazon locales. - Problem solve issues, resolve deprecations and IM load problems for all retail catalogs. - Provide critical product support e.g quick launch for Harry Potter, ipods etc. - Carry out data research to provide detailed analysis of retail catalog data for internal customers. - Undertake data uploads until self service tools are fully adopted and provide support for internal customers using self service tools. - Monitor, troubleshoot and report on catalog build issues. - Work to meet existing ticket SLAs and escalate tickets judiciously. - Work with software engineers to document and improve relevant systems, logic and processes within Catalog Systems. - Respond to internal technical requests and questions. - Identify areas of improvement for services, tools, or procedures to reduce contacts and drive down manual tasks. - Work fairly autonomously to resolve most support issues. Demonstrate excellent judgment when making escalation decisions. - Work on maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Perl or shell scripts, web technologies, and Java based projects. Requirements- B.S. in Computer Science or a related field. - 2+ years overall development/technical support experience. - Proven track record in working on enterprise level large scale n-tier applications. - Development Experience in Java or open source based technologies. Understanding of XML/SOAP, web services, web application development, and industry-standard commerce systems. - Demonstrated experience in Perl or shell scripts, a sound understanding of web technologies and database structures. - Detailed knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system and tools. - Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues in complex Enterprise Level applications. - Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence. - Communicates clearly and effectively with customers and shows excellent written documents that are easily understood by others. - German, French or Japanese language skills are a plus.
