Job Description
Purpose:
Officer– NGA Support is responsible for day-day support, operation and control of all NGA software and reference data.
This position needs to provide support to level1 team, keep reference data up to date, ensure the availability of tools environments, and interact with vendors to get issues/problems resolved.
This position is expected to provide L2 and L3 level support for all NGAs used within GSC and other tools for which support is transitioned to the NGA support team.
This position is also expected to provide call-out support for priority 1 issues for NGAs as agreed by the service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-going operational support including releases, upgrades, bug fixes, security updates, and any system change activities
Independently handle technical issues and escalate complex and critical issues at appropriate levels across team
for speedy resolution of issues/incidents.
Monitor and report for non-conformity, follow up the non-conforming incidents with concerned teams till resolution is reached.
Prepare regular reports and publish them
Attend meetings with counterparts in other support teams for providing better service and resolution of incidents/problems.
Maintain and manage working relationships with other teams.
Senior members are required to
Conduct technical training and cross training to the team.
Conduct user training when required users.
Develop / enhance regular reports and publish them
Desired Candidate Profile
Position Specifications:
• Education and Knowledge
• Engineering graduate/MCM/Graduate or post graduate in other areas of Information technologies
• Good Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good coding and scripting skills.
• Senior Officers should have a working understanding of SDLC process.
• For Executives, working understanding of ITIL processes and SDLC process is required.
• Experience
• Officers should have at least 6 months experience in IT.
• Senior Officers -Total Experience at least 3years of which, 2 years should be in IT application / tool support.
• Executives -Total Experience at least 5 years of which, 3 years should be in IT application / tool support.
• Non technical Skills
• Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
• Self starter Attitude.
Technical Skills:
• Basic knowledge of SQL or MySQL for queries, etc.
• Knowledge / Training in XML, HTML, ASP, .Net (C# or VB.net), Java scripting is a plus.
• Basic database knowledge
Senior members should have
• Should have worked in one of the following technologies - XML, HTML, ASP, Java scripting, .NET.
• Preferable to be certified in specified tool support (such as .Net certification or OCP certified)/ITIL foundation.

• Supporting tools in various technologies.
• Exposure to the SDLC process of development/enhancement and testing tools with business users.
• Exposure to the ITIL modules like incident management, problem management and change management.
