Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) invites application on prescribed forms by 14/05/2009 (21/05/09 for the candidates from far flung areas) for various posts in various Government of India Ministries and Departments in the prescribed format. The post are :

Surveyor General of India : Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Survey of India(Grp.A) Service of Persons appointed to the Service under Rules 7 & 8. Qualifications: Essential: A. Educational : Degree in Engineering or Master’s Degree in Mathematics / Physics / Geography / Geodesy of a recognized University or equivalent. B. Experience: Eighteen years’ experience in a Senior Administrative and managerial position in an Engineering organization or a Scientific Laboratory in the related field. Desirable : i) Research experience in Surveying Photogrammetry or Geodesy or allied subjects with evidence of published research work. ii) Knowledge of computer programming. iii) Knowledge of automation in Cartography. DUTIES : Surveyor General of India heads SOI and has the responsibility of ensuring the exploration of the country’s domain and suitable mapping, providing base map for expeditious & integrated development and their utilization to the progress, prosperity and security of the country, alongwith SOI’s support to Third World countries in survey, topography & survey education. HQ : Dehradun
Assistant Professors : Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. Out of three posts, two posts are reserved for OBC candidates and remaining one post is reserved for SC candidates. Qualifications : Essential : Educational : A- i) Ph.D Degree with first class degree at Bachelors or Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering / Technology together from a recognized University or equivalent. ii) Three years’ experience in Teaching / Industry / Research at the level of Lecturer or equivalent. OR B- i) First class degree at Master’s level in the Mechanical Engineering / Technology from a recognized University or equivalent. ii) 5 years’ experience in teaching / industry / research at the level of Lecturer or equivalent. Such candidates will be required to obtain Ph.D Degree within a period of 7 years from the date of appointment as Assistant Professor. OR C- Candidates from Industry / Profession with first class Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Technology from a recognized University or equivalent and professional work which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D Degree and with 5 years Industrial / Professional experience would also be eligible. NOTE : If a Class / Division is not awarded at B.E. / B.Tech., M.E./M.Tech. / Equivalent Degree, a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to first Class/Division. If a grade point system is adopted, CGPA will be converted to equivalent marks and Minimum CGPA shall be 6.75 in the scale of 10. DUTIES : To perform all the academic activities including examination work in Mechanical Engineering specially in the field related to Thermal Engineering / Production / Design. To participate in R&D and research guidance, consultancy/testing services, promotion of industry-institution-society interaction, Curriculum/Resource Material/Laboratory development & expansion, Co-curricular & Extra curricular Activities, Academic and Administrative Management, Policy Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation and Promotional activities, Promotion of entrepreneurship and job creation, helping mobilization of resources for the institution, develop/update and maintain MIS, Plan and implement staff Development activities. Any other relevant work assigned by the Head of Institution. HQ : Delhi College of Engineering, Bawana Road, Delhi /Any other place as decided by the competent authorit
