Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) invites application for appointment to the following jobs:

1. Assistant Engineer (Trainee) (Electrical & Mechanical Branch):

Number of Posts:68

Pay Scale:Rs. 8550-275-13500

Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering from a recognised University/ institute or AMIE with 65% marks or more (pass for SC/ST candidates).

2. Assistant Engineer (Trainee) (Civil):

Number of Posts:08

Pay Scale:Rs. 8550-275-13500

Educational Qualification:Degree in Civil engineering from a recognised University/ institute or AMIE with 65% marks or more (pass for SC/ST candidates).

3. Junior Engineer (Trainee) (Electrical & Mechanical):

Number of Posts:79

Pay Scale:Rs. 5300-150-5600-175-9100

Educational Qualification:Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical engineering from a recognised Polytechnic/ institute with 55% marks or more (pass for SC/ST candidates).

4. Junior Engineer (Trainee) (Civil):

Number of Posts:14

Pay Scale:Rs. 5300-150-5600-175-9100

Educational Qualification:Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognised Polytechnic/ institute with 55% marks or more (pass for SC/ST candidates).

Note:Candidates applying for the post of Jr. Engineer (Trainee) MUST be registered with some Employment Exchanges in Uttarakhand.

Age Limit (as on Jan 01, 2009):18 to 35 years [Relaxation in age as per rules]

Selection Procedure:

Assistant Engineer (Trainee):

Selection will be done on the basis of written test followed by interview.

The Written Test will consist of THREE HOUR objective exam divided into two parts.

Part I will consist 50 Questions based on Reasoning, Quantitative Maths and General Awareness.

Part II will consist of 126 Questions from Engineering Stream. Part II will be common for E&M with questions from Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Stream.

Junior Engineer (Trainee):

Selection will be done on the basis of written test only.

The Written Test will consist of THREE HOUR objective exam divided into two parts.

Part I will consist 50 Questions based on Reasoning, Quantitative Maths and General Awareness.

Part II will consist of 125 Questions from Engineering Stream. Part II will be common for E&M with questions from Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Stream.

Negative Marking: ¼ Marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Application Fee:

In form of a crossed Demand Draft of

Rs. 400/- for General /OBC candidates

Rs. 200/- for SC/ST candidates

in favour of EE (HQ), UPCL payable at Dehradun from a scheduled bank.

How to Apply:

Application in prescribed format should be filled and submitted by the candidates in own handwriting in English CAPITAL LETTERS only on A4 size paper in the prescribed format and application completed in all respect should be sent in an envelope super scribed as “Application for the post of Assistant Engineer (E&M or Civil) / Junior Engineer (E&M or Civil) Trainee in UPCL” by ordinary post by the last date at the following address
