. Excellent understanding and proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and mainframe tools (ex. Endevour, FileAid, AbendAid, Strobe, etc.)
. Considerable knowledge of structured programming technology for structured language environment
. Considerable knowledge of applications/development methodologies
. Considerable knowledge of appropriate operating systems, programming languages, and development tools
. Skill in operating independently
. Skill in exhibiting solid analysis, decision-making, and problem solving
. Ability to assess requirements, alternatives, and risks/benefits for low-to-medium impact projects
. Ability to estimate and to plan
. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
